Illuminate.health’s Advisory Board Grows as its Delivery of Medication Management Services Evolves

CARMEL, IN, May 6, 2021 – illuminate.health, a tech-enabled medication management service provider, announced today the addition of two healthcare executives to the company’s advisory board: Aiden Feng, MD, MBA and Jay V. Patel PharmD, MBA. Together, the new advisors bring extensive clinical and product development experience that has helped scale early stage and mature organizations alike. With the new addition to the team illuminate.health looks to further enhance its value to clinicians and consumers while minimizing costs and improving health outcomes.

“This is a natural evolution for illuminate.health, having built and vetted our proprietary digital platform, and taken on medication management for members of a health plan or a self-funded employer.  There is such great innovation taking place in terms of new care delivery models, accelerated by the COVID-19 pandemic, whether it’s virtual primary care or telehealth along with explosion of the digital pharmacy space. We are well positioned to help support comorbid chronic condition patients with continuous medication management; we are taking a holistic approach to helping patients with medication education, monitoring and better access to pharmacists whether at their local pharmacy or virtually,” explains Varun Goyal, CEO and Co-Founder of illuminate.health.

Aiden Feng, MD is a seasoned physician executive who has scaled up startups like Pillo Health, acquired by Stanley Black & Decker, and Medumo acquired by Phillips, and has patient care experience from his work at Brigham and Women’s Hospital.  He holds an MD from Harvard Medical School and MBA from Harvard Business School, along with a bachelor’s from Yale. “I am excited to help illuminate.health transform medication management, leveraging technological innovation while maintaining a human connection to improve patients’ lives,” says Feng.

Jay V. Patel, PharmD, MBA is a Healthcare executive with extensive strategy, operations, and policy experience in government and private payer environments. He has expertise in driving digital health initiatives in large, complex organizations like Humana, Horizon Blue, Cigna, CVS Health, and emerging growth companies like Care Management International, Seniorlink. He holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a PharmD from the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia. I am honored to advise the illuminate.health team as they aim to transform medication management through their comprehensive, digital platform. Their patient and family caregiver tools and telehealth capabilities are of keen interest to multiple stakeholders, including health plans,” Patel states.

Per Varun, “We are excited and honored to have such individuals join us in helping improve access to care and improve outcomes.  As the digital pharmacy space evolves, we see our niche in the pharmacist-led, continuous medication management space grow. That’s where Jay, with his pharmacist and health plan background can really help us refine our strategy. Aiden, having built and exited successful companies in addition to his clinical expertise, can help steer us based on our stage, by implementing customers in the pipeline, fund raising, and scaling up”
